Community Support

Discussing and acting on idea of reclaiming the environment and nature, developing models that are in harmony with the earth, and questioning anything that sullies human existence. As the name Bhoumam suggests, we discuss and dissect everything under the sun, without boundaries. From politics to literature, from religion to health, from human rights to environmental issues, Bhoumam thrives on diverse perspectives. At the same time, we have tried our best to translate the discourse into meaningful action. The vision of community support also includes the compassionate actions during hardships around us.

During the 2018 flood in Kerala, Bhoumam collected from group members and well-wishers around Rs 25 lakh and allocated it to individuals experiencing financial hardships in the form of food, medication, shelter, and clothing. Few of such details include food kits to more than 2000+ families and 500+ paramilitary volunteers, 170+ beds for school students, 600+ cleaning kits and various other relief materials. During the 2019 flood, we were able to assist with work valued at 6 lakh rupees. During covid time, we distributed tabs to students to encourage them to participate in online learning. These activities were beneficial to around two hundred selected students in Kerala.
